The Walled Garden

The community share offer was due to close on the 16th September 2018, and the management committee would like to thank everyone who has bought shares so far.

We have raised over £20,000 for your community shop, and due to a late flurry of interest we have decided to extend the deadline until Sunday 28th October. So if you are thinking of buying shares, now is the time to do so and help keep the momentum going.

Vision

We’re a community benefit society, a form of cooperative; set up to build and operate a community shop and café. Our shop will be built within what was once the walled garden of Little Plumstead Hall. We’ll be restoring the garden to its former Victorian splendour.
Right now we have no local shop, although around 3,500 people live in our parish. Public consultation very clearly showed the demand for a community owned shop. The café will become a convenient meeting place and the walled garden a super setting for community events. The garden will also grow fresh produce which will be sold in the shop.
With the support of the Plunkett Foundation, who have helped more than 300 similar community owned shops, we’re confident our venture will be a success.

At The Walled Garden Community Shop & Café, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of the shareholders, members, visitors to our website and social media pages. In particular, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. In our Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
