Willow Weaving Workshop

We’re delighted to host Fehmi Gokes for a workshop where you’ll learn to create your own unique piece.

Fehmi will provide expert instruction over two sessions on 30 July and 6 August, 10:30am-12:30pm.

The £75 fee covers materials, tuition, and includes a suggested £10 donation to The Walled Garden.

Holiday Wood Block Printing

Spend the day learning how to use hand carved Inidan wood blocks to print colourful, original designs. This is a great craft to try even if you think you are not ‘arty’ as you choose from a variety of different blocks and paint colurs to create bespoke pieces to take home.

At this workshop, you will learn the techniques to get a great print, then practise your designs, before going on to print some greetings cards, a fabric cushioin cover, and fabric organiser.

All materials and equipment are included in your price. Please bring a packed lunch and drink with you.

This workshop is for children and young adults aged 8 to 16. The workshop is run by Eleanor, a DBS checked former teacher, so an adult is not required to stay.

Al-fresco Summer Cheese & Wine Workshop

Love Cheese? Love Wine? Love Summer? Join us at our al-fresco cheese and wine pairing evening and learn how to pair a range of cheeses with a delicious selection of lighter, fresher wines; perfect for outdoor entertaining.

Join us a few minutes before the published start time and enjoy a gentle stroll around the garden with a complimentary taste of fizz.

We will be exploring a range of delicious cheeses, including cheeses made in Norfolk, and matching them with some classic wines from around the world. We will also talk about food and wine matching more generally and you will pick up some really good tips to take away and practice at home.

During the evening you’ll enjoy 6 different cheese and wine combinations, including local Norfolk Cheeses & wines and at least three pairings.

Please note this is an outdoor event. The terrace area will be covered in the event of light drizzle. However if the weather looks unfavourable we reserve the right to cancel and will refund all guests in full. The terrace is sheltered but if it looks like it might get chilly, bring a jumper as it is not heated.

Moroccan Hand Stitched Fabric Bowl Workshop

Make this stunning fabric bowl in your own choice of fabrics and embellishments either for yourself or as a beautiful gift.

Its construction is very easy and suitable for sewing novices. The price includes a suggested £10 donation to The Walled Garden plus everything you will need, and a large selection of fabrics, wadding and embellishments such as buttons, beads, sequins and butterflies.

You will just need to bring sewing needles, fine pins, large and smaller scissors and a cream/pale beige general sewing thread, not embroidery.

The diameter is 8.5 but can be made larger.

Pizza & Wine with Monzu Pizza

Join us for a relaxed and flavour-filled evening as we pair artisan Italian-style pizza with specially selected wines all set in the peaceful surroundings of The Walled Garden.

First take a stroll through the beautiful garden with a welcome glass of Italian fizz before settling in for a guided tasting like no other where wood-fired pizza meets wine expertise.

Our pizza partner for the evening is Monzu Pizza, a much-loved local pop-up serving authentic Neapolitan-style pizza with light and chewy, wood-fired bases made using their own handmade dough, topped with the finest quality Italian and locally sourced ingredients. Their mobile oven will be on-site, firing pizzas fresh to order for our tasting.

You’ll enjoy four different rounds of pizza each paired with a regional Italian wine designed to elevate your pizza experience.

This event is all about enjoyment, no wine knowledge required, just curiosity and a love of good pizza and good wine.

If you enjoy taking photographs and would like to learn how to take the best pictures come and join our photography club.

Photography is valid whatever medium is used, whether it’s a camera phone or an old box brownie.

We will explore the wonderful opportunities The Walled Garden has to offer for taking photographs.

Our club aim is to explore aspects of photography, determined by the group.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Botanical art workshop

Unleash your inner botanical artist and learn to capture the beauty, form, and character of plants and flowers in this tutor-led workshop suitable for beginners and improvers.

Create your own botanical artworks inspired by the beautiful Walled Garden and key botanical artists throughout history, from early natural history illustration through the Golden Age of botanical art to contemporary practice.

Learn observational and expressive drawing and painting techniques with contemporary artist and experienced tutor Sophia Shuvalova. Working from life in the garden, you will explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to botanical art, developing your use of colour, line and tone.

All materials are provided, including paper, pencils, gouache and watercolours.

This is a an ongoing monthly class.

These designs can be created by hand or machine, or a combination of both. You will learn how to make a wall hanging or quilt from start to finish showcasing different techniques. New projects will be added during the year.
